Car/Vehicle Shipping Cost from Singapore to Kathmandu

Nepal is a very promising country when it comes to car exporting. It is one of the relatively latest countries to import cars using Car Export Company's services, in our 20-year history. We have only been shipping cars to Nepal from the UK for the last three years.

Singapore's "10-year car law" centers on the Certificate of Entitlement (COE), granting vehicle ownership for 10 years, after which owners must renew (for 5 or 10 more years) by paying the Prevailing Quota Premium (PQP), sell, or deregister/scrap the vehicle, as the COE effectively controls the vehicle population on the island. This system, designed to manage congestion, requires owners to pay significant costs for the right to own and use a car, with renewal options tied to the vehicle's age and statutory lifespan.

The cheapest way to ship a car is typically open transport (an open carrier truck), as it's the most common and moves multiple cars at once, saving costs over enclosed shipping. To get the best rates, book in advance, be flexible with dates, compare multiple quotes from different brokers, choose terminal-to-terminal, and ship with a near-empty gas tank.
